H2X has decided to develop a Research & Development department which will be one of the main tools and boosters for the shipyard’s future growth.

MAKING SURE WE INTEGRATE INNOVATION

Since the creation of the shipyard, innovation has always been at the heart of its organization. H2X integrates the last innovations in the fields of:
- Digital machining to make moulds without preforms,
- Composite and one-shot vacuum infusion processes,
- Modular construction.

CONCENTRATING ON PUSHING BACK THE FRONTIERS OF TECHNOLOGY

Thanks to its background and its infrastructures, H2X is able to push back the frontiers of what we know how to do well now and we want to push forward and to develop new processes.

For instance, one of the next challenges of the shipyard will be to develop the capacities of the modular construction beyond the fittings.
The shipyard is currently studying all possibilities of mould production relying on its 5 axis digital machining, its equipment, and the know-how of its staff.

MOVING FORWARD WITH AN ECO-MINDED PROGRAM

Since 2009, H2X has launched a Research & Development program about biomaterials.
The shipyard is now able to carry out the construction of some parts of the boat in biomaterials such as linen and cork.
Linen has a ten times smaller carbon footprint than fiber-glass and bio-resin emits no VOC (Volatiles Organic Compounds).

The use of these biomaterials is the epitome of the reinforced philosophy of the shipyard: building products, in line with our sound environmental industrial approach and work conditions, with a mind to integrate innovative techniques with competitive prices.
